Organised by Knowledge Exchange Office (KEO) of The University of Hong Kong, the Interdisciplinary Quick Talks, with the title ‘Animals Make a Better World’, will be held on Tuesday (July 16, 2019).
Animal welfare has been a growing concern in recent years. The Government is undertaking public consultation on the proposals for enhancing animal welfare, which include introducing a positive “duty of care” on animal keepers, enhancing the provisions for prevention of cruelty and enhancing enforcement powers of the public officers for safeguarding animal welfare.
Our researchers will share with you their research and project in relation to animals and the importance of animal welfare to their project, and discuss new ideas for interdisciplinary research and KE and how animal welfare could enhance their work. You can also meet Jasper, the HKU Libraries Resident Therapy Dog, at this event.
