The University of Hong Kong has a highly talented pool of over 1,000 professoriate staff, along with more junior academics and research support staff. Our researchers have an impressive track record in securing funding through competitive funding schemes, publishing their findings, and translating their research for the benefit of the local and global community. In 2023, Clarivate named 51 HKU scholars among the world’s most highly cited researchers and 167 in the world’s top 1% of scientists. HKU has about 3,500 research postgraduate students, with 12% coming from outside the Greater China region.
