ASTRI and HKU join hands to nurture FinTech talent of the future via the Work-Study Scheme

Our fast-changing society owes much of its progress to innovative technology. Over the years, the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) has unceasingly fostered the development of FinTech talent, with the aims to sustain Hong Kong’s banking, finance and business services, and preserving its competitiveness as the world’s leading international finance hub. To take a step further in cultivating talent by building a bridge between academia and the industry, ASTRI will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Hong Kong (HKU), a commitment to launching the Work-Study Scheme to secure employment opportunities for university students of the relevant fields.

About ASTRI
The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong's competitiveness in technology-based industries through applied research. ASTRI's core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics; Communications; Cybersecurity, Cryptography and Trusted Technologies; Integrated Circuits and Systems; and IoT and Sensors.
