Organised by Asia Global Institute of the University of Hong Kong, AsiaGlobal Dialogue (AGD) is an annual premier forum for global thought leaders from academia, business, policy-making and the civil society to participate in constructive dialogues on global issues with Asian perspectives. A total of 30 global thinkers are among the distinguished speakers at this year’s event.
Themed Redefining multilateralism in a new global economy, AGD 2018 will explore issues triggered by the recent political development, relations between the U.S. and China, the shake-up of the global and regional trade systems, geo-economic and security concerns in Asia Pacific, and the advancement of AI on society.
The conference will start with the welcome remarks by Dr. Victor K. Fung, Advisory Board Co-Chair, Asia Global Institute and Professor Xiang Zhang, President and Vice-Chancellor, the University of Hong Kong. This will be followed by an opening speech of Mrs. Carrie Lam, Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Professor Michael Spence, Nobel Laureate and Advisory Board Co-Chair, Asia Global Institute will deliver a keynote speech on Redefining multilateralism in a new global economy. Mr. Peter Wong, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive, Asia Pacific, HSBC, will address the audience on Asia and multilateralism in a multipolar world. Various panel discussions will also take place during the conference.
